520 lines of resolution with Super High-Band Processor
Intelligently calculates and restores the high-band luminance signal components that would be lost in conventional processing. This ensures extremely high horizontal resolution of 520 lines.

HG Digital Still with Selectable Image Size Settings
Lets you shoot high-quality digital still images (1024x768/ 640x480-pexel) and store them on an SD Memory Card or MultiMediaCard. The HG Digital Still function is able to capture full-frame still pictures that contain approximately 1.5 times the vertical resolution of conventional field stills.

MPEG-4 Clips for E-mail
Create MPEG-4 video clips and send video email to friends or family. You can make clips (up to 3 minutes) from pre-recorded footage or record directly to the memory card from a real-time camera image. Digital Color NightScope

USB Terminal
For easier and more convenient data transfer capability, a USB terminal is provided for fast, plug-and-play data downloading from the memory card to a PC. DV Terminal
This i.Link terminal enables high-speed digital-to-digital image transfer to/from a computer for post-production or for lossless dubbing to/from another DV unit in native DV format.

SD Memory Card Compatible
The removable memory card lets you easily transfer image and sound data to and from a PC. Just remove the card and load it into the optional adapter or card reader - the stored data can be dragged and dropped on your PC just like any other file. The card slot is compatible with both SD Memory Card and MultiMediaCard.

Built-in Auto Light
Automatically illuminates your subject if there's not enough light when you're shooting. Manual on/off operation is also possible.

2.5" LCD Color Monitor

The Digital Image Stabiliser helps to eliminate camera shake.
• PCM Digital Recording

There are 2 PCM digital audio stereo recording modes: 2 channels with 48kHz sampling for highest quality, or 4 channels with 32kHz sampling if you want to perform stereo audio dubbing later.

• Snapshot

Snapshot mode freezes an image, frames it with a white border (like a still photograph) or a drop-shadow, and even adds an accompanying camera shutter sound effect. Single, 4- or 9-frame multiscreen shots are also available.
• Tally Lamp

The Tally Lamp is lit whenever the camcorder is recording.
• Slow Shutter

Slow Shutter mode can be used to make dark scenes appear brighter. It is suitable for stationary subjects.
• Full Auto Mode

This mode offers worry-free camera operation, providing automatic control over features like focus and exposure. Manual operation of the functions listed below is also possible.
• Focusing

The camera is equipped with auto focus; however, you can also use manual focus. The manual focus display appears in the viewfinder when the manual mode is activated.
• Exposure

• White Balance

Auto White Balance adjusts for different indoor light sources so that colours appear natural. Manual White Balance is useful when shooting under various types of lighting. 
• Iris Lock

This allows the iris to be locked so that after focusing on a close subject, even when the subject moves away, the image will not darken. Used when shooting a moving subject, when zooming, when the subject changes its distance (thus its size in the LCD monitor or the viewfinder), or when you want to lock the brightness level.
• Macro

Macro shooting allows you to focus and shoot from as close as 5cm from the subject. With the tele macro function, you can get a close-up shot from as far as 60cm from the subject with the zoom set to maximum telephoto.
• Wide Mode

There are two wide screen modes available: Cinema mode adds a black border to the top and bottom of the picture and Squeeze mode permits playback of videos on a 16:9 screen without making them appear "stretched". Wide mode recordings are perfect for viewing on a wide-screen TV.

• Playback Connectivity

You can connect the camera directly to a TV for playback. AV out and S-Video out are easily accessible. Standard playback controls -- PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, REW and FF -- are provided on the main unit.
• Digital Pinpoint Zoom

The innovative Pinpoint Zoom lets you zoom in on one part of the picture during playback. You can use the remote control unit to "shift" the scene -- up, down, left or right.
Note : Picture resolution decreases as the zoom ratio increases.
• Date/Time Menu

The camera automatically records the date and time of every recording on the tape. During playback, you can select whether to show the date/time information on the screen or not.

• EasyEdit Random Assemble Editing

The digital Random Assemble Editing function allows you to edit up to 8 scenes at a time. You choose the scenes, mark the beginning and end of each, and specify the order you in which you want them recorded. You can also select and specify special effects such as scene transitions to create a transition between individual scenes. Then simply press the Edit button on the docking station and the selected scenes and accompanying effects and transitions are edited together automatically.
• Synchro Editing

Thanks to the built-in time code, you can manually adjust the Editing start timing (between -1.3 to +1.3 seconds) to synchronise the recording VCR and the MiniDV camera during editing.
• Video Insert Editing

Lets you replace the picture without affecting the original sound, so you can remove unwanted scenes while maintaining a continuous soundtrack.
• Audio Dubbing

Recorded scenes can be enhanced later by adding music or a narration via the MIC input jack. Known as "audio dubbing", this allows you to mix additional audio tracks with the original soundtrack, or replace it altogether. Use 32kHz mode to enjoy both soundtracks in stereo.
