offers the assurance of extremely high video
and audio quality as well as large collection of features like
1080p-compatible HDMI output and DVD-Audio /Super Audio CD playback. It
allows the DVD player to transfer digital video and audio signals
directly to an HDMI equipped monitor or projector, instead of having to
convert them to analog. This player plays discs recorded in the MP3,
JPEG, DivX and WMA formats. This multi channel music formats provide a
surround sound music experience that is much more natural and lifelike
than normal stereo. Additionally it is compatible with recordings on PAL or NTSC and region 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ,7, 8, 9, 0
DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R (including DL), DVD+RW, CD-R, and CD-RW discs.
MP3, WMA, JPEG, and DivX files recorded on all the above mentioned
recordable discs are also supported.
DTS Digital Surround The basic DTS 5.1 channel sound format. Uses a higher data rate than Dolby Digital.
HDMI HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first and only industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. With the ability to deliver crystal-clear, all-digital audio and video via a single cable, HDMI dramatically simplifies cabling and helps provide consumers with the highest-quality home theater experience. HDMI can provide an interface between any audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, or A/V receiver and an audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV), over a single cable.
Depending on the model of product, HDMI can support standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable . It can transmit all ATSC HDTV standards and supports 8-channel, 192kHz, uncompressed digital audio and all currently-available compressed formats (such as Dolby Digital and DTS), newer HDMI devices can support HDMI 1.3 technology which adds additional support for new lossless digital audio formats Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™.
DVD Video DVD is essentially a large capacity optical video storage media that contains movies or other video content for home entertainment. DVD has become the standard for video publishing by most movie and video studios.
CD Digital Video DVD Players equipped with CD Digital Video capabilities will be able to play video and sound media that has been compressed together and recorded onto a CD disc.
Video CD DVD Players equipped with Video CD capabilities will be able to play video and sound media that has been compressed together using the MPEG 1 standard, and recorded onto a CD disc.
Dolby Digital The most popular 5.1-channel home theater sound system. An improvement over Dolby Pro-Logic in that it offers: 1) Full frequency response in all channels (3Hz — 20kHz), 2) discrete surround channels, and 3) a separate track for bass only, called the Low Frequency Effects channel.
DivX DivX is the video compression codec developed by DivX Networks and based on the MPEG-4 compression format. Its balance of high video quality and low bit rate has made it very popular and quickly established it as the best home video format thus far. The ability to play it on newer DVD models continues to add to its popularity as DivX Networks advances its support to many new household products. This compression technology has the potential for expanding the ways we view video media in much the way MP3 has given us many new ways to listen to music.
MP3 Short for MPEG-1 layer 3 audio, MP3 is a compression process used to
shrink audio files by filtering out all noise that is not detectable to
the human ear. MP3 is considered near CD-quality, but the file itself
occupies approximately one tenth to one twelfth the space of the
original CD format, making it the perfect medium for today’s smaller,
memory based portable media players.
